Regardless what the doctors and experts say, I cannot live without my high heels.
They are magical.
They add height to even the shortest girls.
They improve posture
They have the ability to glam up any outfit.
And the best thing is they provide the optical illusion of slimmer and longer legs.
In times of emergency, you can also use it to stab that stalker / robber.
They test your balance and challenge your pain tolerance.
It is therefore important to note several points before succumbing to those little devils.
1) The smaller the heels, the harder it is to balance.
Anything less than 1cm is a potential killer.
2) High is good but do not go overboard.
Unless you are a professional, anything more than 5 inches will be too much.
Your posture will likely be compromised due to pain and fear of falling.
3) Shorter girls might be tempted to go for the highest heels.
However, take note of proportion.
Heels more than half of your calf length could look tacky.
4) Protect your feet with heel cushions to relieve some of that strain.
5) If the heels feel too tight and you find difficulty walking in them at the shop.
It is likely to STAY tight and hard to walk in.
So even if they were the nicest pair of heels you have ever seen, walk away.
Better to spend on another pair which will not rot in your cupboard.
